More than a corporate video

A video guides visitors along a predefined perspective. A virtual plant tour lets them decide for themselves which area to look at more closely and how to move through the site. This improves orientation and makes spatial relationships comprehensible.

Typical applications

  • Give customers an authentic impression of production and the site
  • Show applicants the working environment and routes
  • Orient new employees before their first day on site
  • Introduce partners and international teams to projects
  • Prepare real visits and focus them on the relevant areas

Concept before capture

First, the audience, key message and permitted areas are defined. A capture route is then created that enables orientation without showing unnecessary or sensitive information. Where needed, machine states, documents, screens or personal content are removed before capture or anonymised afterwards.

Capture and delivery

The first capture is carried out by a partner on site – free of charge and without conditions; later updates to individual areas are made with a smartphone capture. After processing, navigation and image quality are checked. The tour can be delivered publicly, via an unlisted link or in a protected environment.

Limits

A virtual plant tour does not replace a mandatory safety briefing. It only shows approved content at the time of capture. Changes at the plant require an update if the represented state is to remain binding.

Measuring success sensibly

Possible metrics are qualified customer enquiries, better-prepared visits or fewer recurring standard visits on site. Before the project starts, it is defined which observations can actually be collected. General impact promises without measurement are not used.
